Description: 

This course has been designed to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required to perform engine room duties by becoming familiar with the operation of machinery in the engine room, and learning how to maintain and monitor such machinery.

Duration: 
Ten (10) Saturday Classes
Modules: 
  • The Running and Maintenance of Marine Engines 
  • All  Vessel operational Systems
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Pollution
  • Fire Safety
  • Ship Construction/Naval Architecture
  • Case History, Report Writing
  • Investigation
Course Requirements: 
  • 6 months of certified sea service in an Engine Room
  • Must have completed Basic Safety Training (Pre Sea) at an approved institution
