Able Seafarer Deck Rating (Stcw Regulation II/5)

Description: 

The Able Seafarer Deck Rating (STCW Regulation II/5 of the STCW Code) is the  Mandatory minimum requirements for certification of deck ratings.
This course is designed to equip the learner with operational skills, knowledge and attitudes of Able Seafarer Deck in accordance with industry standards which enable him to perform the functions at the support level as specified in column 1 of the table A-II/5 of the STCW Code.

Duration: 
Ten (10) days
Course Requirements: 
  • Attain eighteen (18) years of age
  • Meet the requirements for certification as a Rating forming part of a navigational watch.
  • While qualified to serve as a rating forming a part of a navigational watch, have approved seagoing service of:
  1. Not less than 18 months, or
  2. Not less than 12 months and have completed approved training.
  • Meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II/5 of the STCW Code (must have successfully completed a  training course Rating forming part of a Navigational Watch and Proficiency in Survival Craft.)
